We’re Live! Same Mission and People – New Name

By Alison Rein, CEO & Managing Partner, QV Health Solutions

Earlier this summer, we announced the launch of QV Health Solutions – an independent new entity comprising all members of the former Quantified Ventures Health and Human Services team. While our organizational structure is new, our people, passion, and purpose remain the same: To drive capital to projects and programs that deliver positive health and social impact.

And our approach hasn’t changed either. More than ever, we know the importance of being:

  • Relational, not transactional

  • Action-biased and systems-focused

  • Financial innovators

The “why” of our work also remains consistent. Fragmented and missing markets inhibit the movement of capital to effective solutions – even when there is a strong evidence base. The results show up everywhere in U.S. healthcare and come with a staggering human and economic toll. Health inequities cost the U.S. economy $451 Billion annually and the U.S. consistently ranks (far) below other wealthy nations when it comes to health system performance. In 2023 alone, the U.S. experienced more than 700,000 excess deaths compared to similar countries. Clearly, we can do better.

Despite recent federal policy changes and associated funding cuts to critical health and social service programs, there is also continuity in who we work with. The underlying need remains, and there are still governmental agencies and organizations who experience market, demographic, and other pressures to maximize the economic, health, and social yield from investments. This will be increasingly true as state budgets are further constrained – requiring all parties to make even more difficult decisions about where and how to allocate resources.

While it might take a bit more work and intention in the current funding and policy context, we are heartened to see partners boldly pursuing efforts to both identify and optimize programs making a positive impact, and to support their capacity to sustainably operate - and even scale. How?

They are focused on trusted partnerships, impact, and value. They are addressing individual social, behavioral, and environmental factors that drive 80% of health outcomes and working to address the chronic physical and mental health conditions that account for more than $1.1 Trillion in direct healthcare spending annually. And most critically, they are engaging with trusted community-based organizations outside of the conventional medical care delivery system – building bi-directional capacity to align on and achieve shared impact goals, the value of which has been clearly defined for all parties. All of this requires a new paradigm of partnership and payment for health and social value, and we’re here for it.

No doubt, the pending impacts of recent federal legislation, as well as other policy initiatives from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will require greater discipline, strategic focus, and creativity of all parties to ensure that resources flow to programs that work.

Under the new banner of QVHS, we look forward to supporting our pioneering clients and partners in these efforts and to sharing examples of our work on our blog in the coming months.

Thanks to all who have been part of our incredible journey so far, and please reach out with ideas for how to build investable solutions that improve health and wellbeing in a way that meets this moment.
